On Wednesday, Volodymyr Lytvyn, Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, met Valery Yazev, Deputy Chairman of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation.
The Parties discussed political situation in Ukraine and the Russian Federation, as well as the state and prospects of Ukrainian-Russian relations. It was declared that the current state of relations allows settling the topical issues of bilateral cooperation.
According to the Head of the Ukrainian Parliament, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine attaches great importance to the development of inter-regional cooperation to restore economic ties.
He supposes that Ukraine and Russia should make a common cause of solving pressing issues in bilateral relations and fostering fruitful cooperation in industry, nuclear power engineering, and aircraft construction.
